Post by ceosakib »

The Guarantor for the protection of personal data has fined a company €15,000 for allowing access to its online services without HTTPS encryption.
THESecurity is a fundamental element of any online activity, yet there are still too many websites that do not respect a basic security measure: the HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer) protocol .

Not using the HTTPS protocol , in addition to putting at risk the data of users who connect to the site, can also australia phone number list lead to a violation of the GDPR , the General Data Protection Regulation (from the English General Data Protection Regulation) which regulates the way in which companies and other organizations must process personal data.

The company Servizio Idrico Integrato Scpa knows something about it, having recently been fined by the Guarantor for the protection of personal data for the lack of an SSL certificate on its website, therefore for having allowed access to its online services without an encrypted HTTPS connection.

What is HTTPS? Why is it so important?
HTTPS stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure and is a protocol for web communication that protects the integrity and confidentiality of exchanged data using encrypted communication.

To implement the HTTPS protocol on your website you need to install an SSL certificate .

Without an SSL certificate, in fact, the protocol used for communication between the user's browser and the website is HTTP which , unlike HTTPS, generates anonymous and unencrypted data traffic and is therefore vulnerable to cyber attacks.
