Wifi 4EU: How to apply for the call

The municipalities that benefit from the €15,000 will pay for the connectivity and maintenance of the Wi-Fi equipment for 3 years. In addition, municipalities can use the WiFi4EU voucher to finance part of a more expensive project ; in this case, the equipment and installation costs that exceed the value of the voucher would be included in the contract between the provider and the municipality.



All public bodies in the Member States of the European Union, as well as Norway and Iceland , are eligible to participate in this call for proposals . Municipalities or municipal associations that obtain the Wifi4EU voucher may only benefit from one of them throughout the programme.

The vouchers are awarded in the order of registration , based on the date and time of submission of the application (i.e. the moment when the "Apply" button is pressed on the portal and NOT the date and time when the application was made). This means that if your municipality is not on the list of towns with free Wi-Fi, it is because the city council has not submitted the application. To ensure geographical balance, each participating country will be entitled to a minimum of 15 vouchers and a maximum albania telegram database corresponding to a percentage of the budget of the call. The city council of each municipality will be responsible for choosing the internet operator, the type of contract and connection.

In addition, this body will also be in charge of the contract for the first three years (that is what the 15,000 euro vouchers that each town council will receive will be for), and the connection will have to be at least 30 Mbps and with sufficient range (and this is something that will be supervised from Brussels). That is to say, you probably won't be able to watch a series in the town square if everyone is connected, but at least we will be able to check the internet and talk on social networks without using data.
