Nahid Hossain Natore Correspondent; RAB-5 conducted a raid in Baraigram, Natore and arrested 5 active members of the banned militant organization JMB (Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh). During this, 10 different extremist books and leaflets were recovered from them.
On Saturday (calendar date September 30), RAB arrested them from an abandoned library in the Bhabanipur area of the upazila based on a secret information at around 1:30 am. The arrested are: Jobayer Hossain (35), son of the deceased Azimuddin of Dogachi village of the upazila and a member of the Dogachi unit of the organization's city, Mostafizur Rahman alias Farhad (36), son of Mokshed Ali of the same village, Ashraful Islam (32), son of Maqbul Hossain, son of the deceased Belal Uddin of Bonpara Gonaihati, country email list Md. Alauddin Abbas (38), son of Rajab Ali Sarkar of Barni village of Jonail.
RAB-5, CPC-2, Natore Camp Company Commander ASP Md. Ajmal Hossain said that on July 19, a raid was conducted in Ruierbhag area under Sadar police station of Natore district and 3 active members of JMB were arrested along with extremist books. According to the information provided by them, JMB members in this district are working to recruit members, raise funds and further strengthen the organization.
Based on this information, RAB-5 intensified its search and intelligence surveillance and conducted this operation in continuation of it and arrested 5 people. The company commander further said that the detainees admitted that they were JMB members. They were responsible for recruiting members and workers in their respective areas. In addition, they were recruiting members, inviting people on behalf of the organization, and distributing extremist books and leaflets. They also gave confessional statements that they had undergone special physical training for jihad.
