Threads , the social network designed by Meta to be a user-friendly alternative to X, has reached 300 million monthly active users and 100 million daily active users . This was announced by Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram and Threads, through his profile on this social network.

Slow but steady growth
Threads was launched on July 6, 2023 in most countries around the world, including the United States and the United Kingdom, although it was not available in Europe until the end of the year, and in just 7 hours it had fusion database accumulated 10 million registered users . Less than a week later , it already had more than 100 million active users .

The novelty attracted many people interested in discovering the dynamics of this social network that promised to be similar to X, but without so much toxicity. However, as expected, this frenetic pace of growth was not sustained over time , which does not mean that the social network is reaping bad numbers.

On the occasion of its first anniversary , Threads announced that it had over 175 million monthly active users. Just 5 months later, it has almost doubled that number, reaching 300 million. This still puts it far behind its nemesis, X , which has 619 million active profiles on its platform, making it the 12th most popular social network in the world .

BlueSky's entry into the game board
In the Threads-X rivalry, a third party has entered the fray: BlueSky . This social network has also promoted itself as an alternative to Musk's social network after the direction it has taken in recent months and taking advantage of the discontent of some of its users.

While Musk ripped the wings off Twitter's bluebird and replaced it with an X, BlueSky is flying high. In mid-November , the platform started to make a strong impression, reaching 19 million users and growing at a rate of 1 million new users every day.

This has not only been a blow to X, but also to Threads , which has seen a new competitor enter the scene. In fact, the Meta social network has already taken steps to compete with the blue butterfly. For example, the introduction of personalized feeds on the platform ,copyinspired by BlusSky.

We will keep a close eye on the evolution of these three social networks and the effects they have on each other. Who knows how the game could change in 2025?
