The 2021 edition of Change Now , entirely remote, once again presented the major challenges and players of tomorrow's world. Companies, startups, media and politicians from 150 countries outlined their contours.
The future will be resolutely connected while gambling data europe being respectful of the environment : this is, in essence, the starting point of the discussions at Change Now 2021. The time is no longer about when to act, but about how to best protect the planet and our society with the technologies at our disposal. Solutions, sometimes still in development, were presented, such as this Microsoft-backed startup that took inspiration from bees to map and measure the evolution of ecosystems in several European countries.
The tech world is thus on the front line on these environmental and social issues, and it is aware of its capacity for action. It is easy to remember the big promises of the digital giants: a neutral or negative carbon footprint by 2030 has been announced by most of them. These actions are demanded by a growing part of the population, in particular by young people like Greta Thunberg seen in a promotional video for an initiative by tech companies to " protect, restore and finance " biodiversity.
The importance of collective intelligence
Collaboration and cooperation between all stakeholders is essential, and this has been repeatedly stated. The pooling of data and tools should help create a “collective intelligence” capable of solving some of the problems related to climate change. To achieve this, artificial intelligence is widely deployed , particularly to be able to process and analyze the large amount of data required for projects such as a “ planetary computer ” measuring deforestation or melting glaciers in real time, and accessible to all.
