What are design patterns?
Let's start at the beginning, and this concept is not new. People were already talking about design patterns in the 70s with the publication of the book "The Pattern Language" by Christopher Alexander. It referred to architectural problems that could be found and how to structure or arrange elements to solve these problems. Later, in 1995, this idea was taken up and brought to the world of programming, giving rise to the famous book "Design Patterns".

As we can see, it is a concept that can be applied to many sectors and the world of interface design, user experience and usability were not going to be any different.

But what are design patterns in UX/UI and what are they used for? Design hotmail email database patterns are solutions to common problems that we can find in websites and apps when working on SEO projects, and they have also been tested and studied to provide an answer. They are also reusable, which means that they can solve the same problem in different circumstances.

As described by usability guru Jakob Nilsen and reflected in Jakob's Law, one of the Laws of UX :

“Users spend more time on other sites than on yours .

This phrase tells us that users already have a marked behavior and mental models because they have visited many websites or applications before ours, and therefore they expect our product to work the same way as all the others they already know.

Case studies
Below we are going to show 8 examples of very common design patterns in SEO projects and that, as users, we expect to be fulfilled when we consume digital products:

Head
The logo is located on the left and the navigation menu on the right. The logo also acts as a link to return to the home page.

Bottom navigation menu in mobile apps
The reason is obvious: we tend to use our thumbs to navigate, which makes it easier to access the menu if it is located at the bottom rather than at the top. In the following image we can see that this is a pattern that is repeated in countless apps.

Content Cards
They consist of a title, an image, a text and a link. We see this applied in news, blog posts, etc. A good practice for SEO is to have a single link in the entire card, improving the distribution of authority through internal links.

Tabbed Browsing
They are very practical for separating categories and showing or hiding content. This is a pattern widely used in e-commerce.

Breadcrumbs or bread crumbs
They help users to orient themselves on complex pages and jump to another part of the navigation. They are usually located just above the content and aligned to the left. Breadcrumbs help Google to better understand our structure and also act as an element of internal authority distribution (interlinking). It is necessary that this element is optimized with an optimal structure.
