Chairman of the Saudi Convention and Exhibitions Authority SCEGA and Chairman of the International Exhibitions Summit IMS, said: "The first day of the International Exhibitions Summit IMS was a huge success. Three of the top ten professional event organizers in the world announced the establishment of offices in Saudi Arabia, 12 new events were launched, and many agreements were signed to promote the progress of the industry, further consolidating Saudi Arabia's position as the world's most dynamic exhibition and convention center."

In addition to the office and event launch, four memorandums of understanding MOUs were signed with the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Saudi Tourism Authority, Event Investment Fund and National Event Center.
Speakers on the first day included His Excellency Ahmed AlKhateeb, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, as well as former Prime Ministers and Ministers from the United Kingdom, Italy, Bulgaria and Greece, leaders of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and the International Congress and Convention Association, representatives from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, and senior executives from Informa, RX Global, Messe Munich, Clarion Events, Messe Dusseldorf and Richard Attias & Associates.
