There has also been plenty to do in the field of campaigns lately. Last year, Hyvertising campaigns were still being worked on non-stop, but lately, the creatives of the Netherlands have been going wild with campaigns using Facebook Connect. A small selection of what I have seen recently: The Birthday Wall by Rituals, the ultimate road trip by Dunlop, the MTV Mobile Buddy Basher and The Challenge by Royal Club. The latter in particular is currently making waves. Media agencies have also found their way to Facebook. Facebook Ads, you know, those Google Adwords-like advertisements on the right, have been increasing exponentially lately. I have seen almost every brand of significance pass by in recent months.

The eternal question
Hyves vs FacebookIn addition to the growth of Facebook itself, the entire Hyves latvia phone number list Facebook discussion continues to keep people busy. The issue at stake in the discussion is: who is bigger? The media jumps on every study that states that Facebook is bigger than Hyves far too easily. Personally, I think this discussion is a bit passé. Frank Volmer, board member of the Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG), the new owners of Hyves, recently said in an interview with Emerce: “Hyves and Facebook are both two different pubs with a different audience and as a brand you should want to be in both” . Dear Frank, social media is just like real life. If you try to be in two pubs at the same time, you only get half of both and you never enjoy it 100 percent. In my opinion, advertisers should choose: Facebook or Hyves.
