Essbase on-prem (11g): December 2024,

In short, it will be necessary to plan migrations from 11g to 21c (therefore in the Cloud), we therefore retain the following facts:

Studio (11g) becomes Platform which is a web editor available.
The EAS administration console is migrated to a Platform administration console although a lightweight format persists.
More security management possibilities are offered (outside of Shared Services).
The roadmap presented is as follows:

The highlights are:

The Shadow Cubes
Easy to duplicate a cube into an "image" cube. Then you work on the Shadow cube uae telegram data and at the end you merge the data into the source cube (promote). I immediately see two use cases:
Providing a smaller cube to entities/regions of a company in order to make business processes more agile and faster
Provide a cube to a cell of experts so that it can “have fun” for example with “WhatIfs” without impact on the main cube (as long as the simulations are not validated)
OCI deployment with standalone database integration. Possible interactions with BI.
The arrival of generic JDBC drivers (for Teradata for example).
A feature to compare two outlines and copy/paste to align or update them.
Possibilities to connect Essbase 21c with a Hyperion Planning application; therefore in addition the installation of a 21c version in "On premise" for a modern hybrid mode.
The Designer cube for creating and updating an application via Smartview and Web .
Improved functionality for analyzing and optimizing a BSO cube .
The Essbase world remains alive even if its definition in collaboration (or confrontation) with the Oracle EPM cloud suite becomes difficult to perceive.

COMING SOON: Episode 2 with the highly anticipated roadmap of this EPM Cloud suite, in all its horizontality: Planning, Financial Close, Profitability…
