At the moment you have two large groups of companies. The first group is thinking about the first possible steps on social media and is characterized by uncertainty and a too low level of knowledge. The second group has a few successful and less successful experiences behind them and does not know how to evolve from separate projects to an integrated approach. In this article I would like to think together with you about the steps that the second group can take.
I believe more and more in an approach that reminds me of the story of the 'frog in the pan'. You probably know the story. If you throw a frog in a pot of boiling water, it jumps out immediately. However, if you put the frog in a pot of cold water and you slowly increase the temperature, the frog doesn't notice it and just stays there. In my opinion, companies that want to make a fresh start with their social media strategy and really want to integrate social media into the company, should adopt this philosophy.
Things often go wrong when changes are too abrupt. With big changes, people often see big threats coming their way, which only increases their reluctance. Implementing the changes slowly but surely, without anyone getting a 'big bang' feeling, is the challenge to succeed in the mission.
Too many people hide behind their company culture as an excus france telegram data for not succeeding in social media. “To succeed with our plans, the culture must first change,” is a phrase I hear often. However, I disagree. I don’t think you can change the culture overnight. This is where the ‘frog in the pan’ strategy comes in. You make sure that the plans fit into the existing culture in their initial phase. This increases the chance that the plans will be accepted. Of course, the idea is to slowly but surely adjust the projects so that they fit into the long-term goals of the social media strategy .
