Lizzo: Marketing as a tool to win a Grammy

Now, just because the voting process is so rigorous and fair, it doesn't mean that the marketing behind each artist isn't of utmost importance for the jury to choose them.

Year after year we discover that artists no longer only have to be excellent singers or musicians, but also have a presence on social networks, set trends in fashion and have a dazzling live performance.

The leader in the Grammy race this year was pakistan mobile database Beyoncé. The former Destiny's Child with her thirty-second victory on Sunday night, has become the most decorated artist in the history of the academy. She was nominated for nine awards and won four. As things stand, she is already the female artist with the most Grammys in history. Last month, she did a private one-hour show in Dubai for which she was supposedly paid $24 million.

However, for artists and industry workers who aren't quite on Beyonce's level, winning a Grammy can still be important both in terms of boosting reputation and filling bank accounts.

There's no doubt that social media presence is a key component of almost every musician's strategy.
