3. Intercept your competitors’ best performing topics
Wouldn’t it be great if you could see which articles of your competitors are getting the most traffic so you could try and replicate their success?

You can do it.

Many blogs or personal websites will "show off" their best performing articles like this:

From here, it’s easy to spot the keywords they’re struggling to rank for by looking at their URL and title.

For example, when I click on the article “The Ultimate Guide to Men’s Hair Products,” I can guess that the target topic or keyword for the Beardbrand website is “men’s hair products” or “hair products.”

This isn’t a strictly data-driven process. We don’t know how Bearbrand chooses the “most popular” posts, and we’re not sure if they drive traffic.

The best way to find out is to copy your competitor’s domain into Ahrefs’ Site Explorer and go to the “Top Pages” report to see which articles are sending them the most organic traffic.

For example, we can see from the screenshot that Beardbrand’s article on beard styles brings it about 8,717 organic visitors per month. Of the 3,260 keywords it ranks for, “beard styles” brings the most traffic.

This is a great way to find good writing topics.

4. Focus on search intent
Google strives to provide its users with the most germany telegram data relevant results for their queries. This means that if you want to rank higher in Google and get passive organic traffic, your website needs to be the most relevant result for the query .

Translated into SEO terms, this means you need to create content that matches search intent.

How to discover search intent?

Thankfully, because Google is committed to showing the most relevant results, you can use this to your advantage. Simply look at the top ten search results for your chosen topic and see what types of pages are ranking.

For example, the following figure shows the best ranking results for coffee machines

It looks like most of the top-ranking pages are category pages that sell various types of coffee machines. In this case, it’s going to be hard to rank with a blog post or article, no matter how great your content is.
