Media club with fake guests

On Tuesday evening, SRF 1 showed the first new "Media Club" with Franz Fischlin (see the show). The moderator had four places to fill and chose "Watson" founder Hansi Voigt, "Blick am Abend" editor-in-chief Peter Röthlisberger, former journalist Monica Fahmy and author Pedro Lenz. The topic of the round: How does the measurability of readers' interests influence the setting of topics in editorial offices?

It could have been an exciting show. However, the panel did not manage to take the discussion beyond the topic of reader comments. For a full 75 minutes, Fischlin spoke with his guests myanmar rcs data about how below the belt the discussions in the comment columns are and how the editorial teams should deal with them. "The wrong people are sitting here," thought those who watched the discussion on television as members of the industry. A better choice for this would probably have been the community managers of the online portals.

For the journalists among the viewers - in all probability the lion's share - the statements in front of the camera were too banal. The problem with the readers' comments has been chewed over too often. During the show there were glimmers of hope that the discussion would soon go a step further. This was usually when "Watson" boss Voigt had his say. And they were not fulfilled.

The journalists finally escaped boredom by switching to the second screen. The show was a hot topic on Twitter. 345 tweets were sent out under #medienclub alone within a few hours. There was also a lot of tweeting under #srfmedienclub. Comments were made on individual statements by the guests, the show's new logo and Franz Fischlin's dialect presentation.
