An example
Below is a list of the features HubSpot uses to be GDPR compliant. To clarify these features, Alfred is with you. Alfred is one of your contacts, HubSpot is the "processor" of your data, and your company is the controller of that data:
Legal basis for processing
consent (Alfred has decided) with advance gambling data nigeria notice (you told him what he was getting into),
the fulfillment of a contract (Alfred is your customer and you want to send him an invoice) or
what the GDPR calls a "legitimate interest" (Alfred is a customer and you want to send him information or products).
HubSpot may track this legal reason (also known as a "legitimate basis") for your contacts.
Consent
One type of lawful basis for data processing is consent with a reasonable period of time.
In order for Alfred to grant consent under the GDPR, the following must happen:
He must be told what he is getting into. This is called a "notice".
He must actively register (pre-checked boxes are not valid).
Consent must be granular, meaning it must cover the different ways Alfred's personal data is processed and used (e.g. marketing emails or sales calls). You must record verifiable evidence of 1) what exactly Alfred consented to, 2) what he was told (“notice”), and 3) when he consented.
