The new design of Bing Webmaster Tools

Post by rumana777 »

Over the past few months, Microsoft has been working on modernizing Bing Webmaster Tools. The revised version can already be used by selected users. Everyone else should be able to benefit from the new version from the first week of March. Bing Webmaster Tools are the counterpart to Google Search Console: They enable webmasters to view and improve the situation of their own website(s) in Bing search. In Germany, Bing currently has a market share of just over 12% in the desktop area (source: Statista.com , data from January 2020) . No wonder, since it is set as the default search engine in the widely used Windows 10 operating system, among others. Ecosia’s search is also based on Bing. Ecosia says it uses part of its profits to plant trees. In times of climate change, this is an undertaking that should not be underestimated.

According to Microsoft, certain principles were taken into rcs data lebanon account when redesigning Bing Webmaster Tools , such as a particularly clear and responsive design of the user interface as well as faster and more powerful tools. We have already had a look at the new design. The layout is somewhat reminiscent of the new Google Search Console, but at the same time seems more lightweight. There are currently not many menu items in the navigation, just "Search Performance", "Sitemaps" and "Backlinks". The remaining functions are to follow over the next few months, while the old version of the tools will probably remain online in parallel. The new version of the tools is already very intuitive to use. If I open the "Backlinks" item, I get an overview of the most important key figures at the top and a list of the sources providing links below. With just one click of the mouse, I get to the "Disavow Links" tool for devaluing links. In general, the better clarity and higher speed are quickly noticeable. Unfortunately, the new version does not yet have a dashboard like the one in the previous version. This was actually a very practical thing because it gave you a direct view of all the important key figures. Let's hope that it will be carried over from the old version
