Study the players positioned in the first 2 listing pages

Studying the sites positioned on the first and second page is very important, in order to then choose the strategies to implement. As I anticipated above, Google shows in the first 2 pages of listing, landing pages that have a clear and precise purpose: to explain the topic that was searched (e.g. hypochondria, stuttering, etc.) in a simple and synthetic way.

They have no commercial intent, no call-to-action; only the intent to inform the user.

This also helps us understand how the Serp has evolved in the last 10 years some of the important considerations before, in fact, it was possible to see homepages of sites that were "focused" on a topic.

Google is now much better at understanding the user's search intent and has dropped from its rankings all those pages that did not give an accurate answer to the user. Google does not want your search to require several clicks before being satisfied. It must ensure that you are satisfied with the page you click on the first click; the second at most.

So forget about taking your site's homepage and bombarding it with backlinks with exact anchor text to push it to the first page: it will do no good. Links are still important, but they have been contextualized much better than before.
