Chiara Fua, blogger and instagrammer, on the effectiveness of giveaways
"This is my most recent experience on the giveaway theme: with the blogger team of the public relations agency Aurica Digital Agency of which I am a part, we organized a giveaway to advertise a travel agency in Brianza ( Qi Viaggi travel agency). The goal was to reach a good circle of people in target for the travel agency and also grow the public relations agency.
The prize we offered was a weekend in a hotel for 2 people. The formula was this: "To thank you for the affection you show us every day, following us and commenting on what we post, we decided to give you a relaxing experience". The how to use the rcs database for direct marketing contest was shared on the profiles of all the bloggers in the team with the following rules: follow the 2 agencies (the PR agency that organized the contest and the travel agency that provided the prize), the blogger who shared the contest post and comment on the post tagging a person with whom you would have liked to share the trip in case of victory.
The word giveaway was not mentioned in this case, not even as a hashtag.

The contest had a good response, I advertised it on my profile, and from there alone about 60 people participated , then it was spread on the travel agency's Instagram page and on that of the public relations agency. We advertised the post with Instagram sponsorships , setting the province of Milan as the reference location (the goal was in fact to reach people from this area, which was the target of interest for the travel agency).
